Electrical standards in panel design
The project's market and standard define components, testing, labeling and documentation. P1C Select organizes rules into standard profiles, and P1C is a UL 508A and UL 891 certified fabricator.
Standard profiles
- UL 508A and NFPA 70 (NEC): industrial control panels for the United States.
- NOM-001-SEDE: electrical installations in Mexico.
- IEC 61439: low-voltage assemblies.
- IEC 60204-1: electrical equipment of machines.
How standards are used
Normative tables (ampacity, correction factors, motor protection, SCCR) are loaded by engineering from licensed copies and verified by a second person. Each rule records edition, source and license.
P1C does not publish or reproduce protected standard content; standards are cited by name and edition.
Differences that matter
- UL and NEC: product certification and installation for the United States; the marked SCCR must be equal to or greater than the available fault current.
- NOM: mandatory in Mexico for electrical installations.
- IEC: the basis of many international specifications for assemblies and machinery.
Frequently asked questions
Is P1C certified?
Yes: UL 508A (industrial control panels), UL 891 (low-voltage switchboards) and ISO 9001:2015 certified, and an authorized TCI integrator.
